Happy (belated) New Year & Happy (belated) 1st Birthday, Deacon!!
I know, I’m a couple weeks behind in joining everyone with the celebratory posts. I had good intentions in updating my blog before I posted again but life got the better of me and here I am, two weeks into 2014 without a shiny, new website to show for…oh well, life moves on! I’ve actually been looking forward to welcoming the new year for quite some time now. 2013 was a year of many changes—beautiful blessings coupled with painful trials.
Here are some 2013 highlights:
- the birth of my beautiful, sweet son Deacon JuYoung Chong
- leaving my full-time job at a local educational publishing company
- moving out of our parents’ home and into our own
- taking a leap of faith at a part-time teaching job outside of my comfort zone
- celebrating David’s 3oth birthday with a quiet dinner out
- working with some of the sweetest, thoughtful clients & talented vendors
In the midst of these beautiful blessings, I also experienced painful trials that have stretched and challenged me in ways I never would have fathomed but through it all God proved to show that His timing is perfect in every way. One of the most challenging things I experienced this year was navigating my role as a wife, mother, pastor’s wife, daughter, sister, teacher, and event planner. Some are full-time roles that I treated as part-time and others are part-time duties that I treated as full-time. Somewhere along the lines, I lost myself and my vision in life.
This year, I resolve to be more intentional and purposeful in using my gifts for God’s glory and not my own. First and foremost, as a daughter of our Lord, wife to my husband, and mother to my son.
I want to thank you for visiting my blog! I began this blog to not only share the weddings and events that I’m so fortunate to be a part of but to give a glimpse into my personal life as well. We have some exciting things in store for 2014 so please come back and visit often! 😉
