Being the third (and last) daughter of this beautiful brood, Penelope’s 1st birthday was an extra special occasion for this family. Having a guest list of families with two to three kids per bunch, Penny’s mom wanted to make sure everyone had a fun, relaxing time. Throw in a taco truck + swimming pool + delectable desserts by Sweet & Saucy Shop + specialty cookies made by a dear friend, and you’ve got a recipe for success!
I came into the picture after Penny’s mom had booked her stationery designer, none other than Hannah of The Things Hannah Loves, where she created a bright and cheery stationery suite to go with our splish splash themed 1st birthday. I found some wrap paper from Paper Source that went with our color scheme and naturally had to incorporate it onto our head table. I also wanted to focus on creating a special space for the older kids to sit and eat—we threw in some butcher paper that we taped onto the floor, sourced super affordable pillows from Ikea that matched our color palette, and incorporated the cutest little goodies from Shop Sweet Lulu!
Oh, and it sure doesn’t hurt when you’re friends with Youkeun Oh, who beautifully captured Penny’s 1st Splish Splash swim party with her friends and family. Happy 1st birthday, Penelope!!
